The Manus student association is a non- government
organization from the University of Papua New Guinea.
The association comprises of UPNG students who are either
from Manus Province or have interest in serving the province.
Established in the 90s the association was created as a
group that brings manus students together create network and strengthen their
relationship, as well as look out for each other while families are in the
village.
UPNG MSA is made up of the executives which includes the
president, vice president female, vice president male, Treasurer and the
secretary, the executives manage and lead the student group in decision making,
and spearhead end of year projects along with organized activities.
The association comprised of Students
registered externally or internally at both the Waigani Campus, and the Taurama
Campus of the University of Papua New Guinea.
Goals and Objectives
The aims and
objectives of this Association shall be;
(a) To represent
students in matters affecting their welfare and interests while in
school.
(b) To unify
students so that they co-operate and work in harmony amongst
themselves.
(c) To operate as
a mechanism through which effective communication can take
place between its
members and the university authority through the Office of
Sports and
Recreational Organization.
(d) To promote
our culture and traditional practices and values in the university.
(e) To facilitate
community awareness on social issues through its members.
(f) To promote
gender and social equity among its members
