As part of the association’s annual end of year Project the University OF Papua New Guinea Manus students association will be delivering medical supplies to Lorengau General Hospital at the end of the year.

Project “Karai blo Chauka” initiated by the association will include the donation of mobility aids and medical supplies to Lorengau General Hospital which cater for patients all across the province.

According the association’s President Deardrah Polomon the donation will include wheelchairs, thermometer, scales and Malaria test kits, she pointed out that last year the association focused on education.

”Since we focused on the education sector in the 2021 and 2022 we decided to address the health sector,” Ms Polomon said.

With the Project being the association’s initiative Ms Polomon clarified that all expenses will met by the association and that was through fundraising held including the Major funraising night held last night.

Apart from the association’s financial aid MS Polomon said several organizations have reached out and verbally supported the cause in addition to promising to support the cause, including individuals

The association has also put in their effort in applying for community Grant with Kina bank and is waiting for results.

One of the challenges pointed out by Ms Polomon is Balancing school and the association’s work.

“It’s Been Hectic balancing school and Manus students association but like I have said we aim to deliver within our capacity,” Ms Polomon said.

Delivering the end of year project is not the only aim for the association but creating an inclusive environment for the members through networking and capacity events.
