Manus students association in the University of Papua New
Guinea have received support from Small medium enterprise and Kina bank for the
association’s end of year project.
Project Karai blo Chauka initiated by the Manus student’s
association which will include the donation of basic medical equipment to the
Lorengau General Hospital have received support from Chauka ya, Leliu events
and Kina bank.
Chauka Ya, a Garment and accessory label in partnership with
jacks of PNG have donated wheelchairs, gloves, BP monitors, glucose, machines
and scales, Leliu events have also donated K5000 worth of these basic medical
equipment.
With the assistance from Jordan Polomon a worker at Kina bank who saw the
association’s appeal for donations applied for community grant from kina bank
and was successful in securing a K5000 cheque for the association which he
presented to the goup last week.
The K5000 cheque from Kina bank have all went towards acquiring basic medical equipment.
Association’s President Deardrah Polomon on Behalf of the
association thanked the donors for their support.
“The UPNG Manus students association would like to thank the following people, for their unwavering support: Daphne Liu Rasehei ( Leliu Events) Cynthia Kewei( Chauka Ya) And Brendan Polomon (Kina Bank),” Ms Polomon Acknowledges them.
For the two locally owned business giving back to the
community is part of their community engagement program said the owner of Leliu events.
“When you engage Leliu you engage with a community, as part
of leliu community engagement 2023 mipela harim Karai bilong Chauka, we are
honored to be assisting Manus student donation drive of basic medical supplies
to Lorengau general hospital,” she said.
Project "Karai blo Chauka" will be delivered to
Lorengau General hospital early November.
